Today I am sharing some tricks I’ve learnt over the years when it come to sewing with ‘Ease’ .
So, what is ‘ease’? …
Put simply, ease is a small extra amount added to the measurement of a pattern.
In the craft industry, ease isn’t something we need to particularly focus on, especially those of us designing and making things such as soft toys. However, some pattern templates will naturally have an area where we are left trying to fit two pieces of different lengths or shape together.
In this tutorial I will show you how to work with ease and some tips on avoiding those annoying tucks and pleats that can happen.
I believe in sharing knowledge. We all have different ways of doing things, sometimes it’s something we have been taught and sometimes we have stumbled onto a new way of doing something through trial and error. That’s why I have started sharing what I’ve learnt with you through these tutorials.
Are there any other techniques you have trouble with or maybe just curious to see another way of doing something? If so, let me know by leaving a comment below.
Happy Sewing 🙂
